BISP Issues New Rules for Complaints Over Reduced Payments

ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued new guidelines for beneficiaries who receive reduced payments or deductions in their stipends. The announcement was made by BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid, who shared the information through a public message to beneficiaries across Pakistan.

According to the latest update, the government has also increased the quarterly payment under the Benazir Kafalat Programme from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500, providing additional financial relief to eligible women registered under the program.

Increase in BISP Stipend

Officials confirmed that the increase in the stipend will apply from the current payment cycle. Beneficiaries have been advised to carefully count their payment and ensure they receive the full amount of Rs14,500 when collecting their installment.

The increase is part of the government’s ongoing effort to support vulnerable families who rely on the BISP program to manage daily household expenses amid rising inflation.

How to File a Complaint for Reduced Payments

BISP has introduced a clear procedure for beneficiaries who believe their payment has been reduced or deducted unfairly.

To submit a complaint, beneficiaries should follow these steps:

  1. Visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office.
  2. Inform the Assistant Director or responsible staff member about the deduction.
  3. Request and fill out the official complaint form for payment deductions.
  4. Provide your name, CNIC number, mobile number, payment collection location, and details of the deducted amount.

Once the complaint is submitted, BISP authorities will investigate the case and verify the claim.

If the complaint is proven correct, the concerned bank or payment agent may face legal action, and the deducted amount will be returned to the beneficiary.

Important Instructions for Beneficiaries

Before visiting the office to file a complaint, BISP officials have advised beneficiaries to follow some important guidelines:

  • Bring your original CNIC.
  • Carry your registered mobile number.
  • Visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office for assistance.
  • If you cannot fill the complaint form yourself, seek help from the office staff.

Authorities have also urged people not to rely on unauthorized agents or middlemen when collecting their payments.

BISP Helpline for Assistance

Beneficiaries can also contact the BISP helpline 0800-26477 to register complaints or seek guidance regarding payment issues.

Officials say the helpline is available to provide information about stipend payments, complaint procedures, and other program-related queries.

Strengthening Transparency in Welfare Payments

The Benazir Income Support Programme, launched in 2008, is Pakistan’s largest social safety net initiative aimed at supporting low-income households through direct cash transfers.

The latest complaint guidelines are part of BISP’s effort to improve transparency and protect beneficiaries from illegal deductions or fraud during payment distribution.

Authorities have encouraged beneficiaries to report any irregularities immediately so that strict action can be taken against those responsible.
